A product launch is the culmination of the entire product development process. Those months or years of careful planning and preparation – this is what it all comes down to. Especially for a start-up company which does not have the financial resources of the bigger companies, things may be a little harder. But not if you learn how to maximize what you have.
A product launch should be informative. Your aim is to let people know that there is this amazing, new product about to be released. Here are a few tips on how to organize a product launch that will create just enough buzz to build a good sales momentum. All these, without having to seek the help of a public relations firm.
Make good use of social media
The secret may just be in having a good understanding of how the online world works. Hint about the product and announce its launch on Twitter, Facebook, and other social media sites, then link them to your website. If it won’t take much, ask friends to do the same. Connect with bloggers and invite them to the launch. Be active in online forums. From there you will learn more about the market you’re getting into, demographics and all. It would be good to build a community even before the day of the launch.
Buy ad space
If your resources would allow, acquiring some ad space in print and other media to trumpet your product launch is a good idea. Local papers usually don’t charge much, plus if you buy ad space, it will make it easier for you to invite press people to attend your product launch/press conference. This early you should already be building networks.
Don’t forget the little things!
Well, not so little – business cards, flyers, brochures, and other marketing materials. Have them all ready to be given away during the launch!
Nobody wants to go to a boring product launch. Be sure you have the entire setup worked out so you can keep the visitors upbeat during the event. A LED sign never fails to attract attention, and using it to promote your slogan is a great idea. You see it during trade shows: people are glued to digital display signs, especially those with a running message, trying to figure out how the thing reads. Using a programmable LED sign display to attract passersby won’t do any harm, too!
But don’t just go out there. Try to do your research on which company offers the best deals when it comes to LED signage.
